{image1}

The Challenge: Write a short story that entails both romance and mystery. The primary scene must take place at a bus station. The lead character is a female going home from work. As she steps off her bus, her scarf got caught by the wind and landed on the ground a few feet away. While retrieving her scarf, she noticed a small piece of fortune cookie paper that reads: "Judge not by appearance, but by character." Upon looking up, she saw a gentleman in professional attire and suitcase holding onto a boy of approximately 7-year-old. In contrast, the boy was dressed in rags and covered in dirt. Tell a tale of how these three characters interact as our female lead follows the advice of her fortune.

The Criteria: Originality. Unique writing style. Clarity of thought. Proper grammar.

Five contestants entered the writing challenge and were determined to see the finish line before midnight of March 2nd, 2010. Despite the little time afforded, the entries excel in originality and am in awe with everyone's effort. The deadline dawned upon us before we know it. Vivien puts it best when she stated that she has "never felt this rushed even in school." Indeed, the challenge pushed everyone to strive for a goal that perhaps I myself would have given up on. But our five participants persevered. Of notable mentions are krystal and TVBInteraction who composed their very first fanfictions for the challenge. And let me tell you, my very first fanfic pales in comparison. In fact, it's a memory I'd rather bury. You know, the better forgotten past, to quote krystal. ;)

{image2}
http://tvbcentral.net/fanfic/viewstory.php?sid=5
Fanfic poster by Blossom

"Timely Connections", written by krystal, explores the themes of betrayal, acceptance and forgiveness within the past, present and future. The complexity of her plot definitely requires more than a mere three days to execute and am happy to know krystal will re-visit this fiction to further develop it. The story already has a very solid outline with an intriguing beginning and conclusion. And as an avid reader, I'd love to know more of: (1) the bond between Tavia and Sheren during their poorer days and the care that Sheren showered Tavia with, (2) Sheren's reaction and subsequent forgiveness when she was informed of Tavia's betrayal and (3) the romantic relationship that forms between Tavia and Kevin and how he changed her materialistic ways. But even without a further exploration of the three subplots I highlighted above, krystal's 3-day work already exceeds one's expectation for a fanfic writer's debut. ;)

{image3}
http://tvbcentral.net/fanfic/viewstory.php?sid=6
Fanfic poster by Blossom

"Deceiving Assumptions", written by TVBInteraction, tells a tale of strong-headed Macy who steered clear from men. But one day, her 'single principle' was unknowingly challenged by Him Law. Him, despite developing a crush on Macy during their college days, never got the guts to tell her. Macy, who never once noticed him in college, thought her new colleague's a rascal just like the other men she interacted with. But through their work rapport, Macy realized she must acknowledge the exception to the rule. In the (promised) revision, I hope to see more of Macy's interactions with Him and how he managed to shake her firm belief. Furthermore, the story's synopsis asked "what will happen next" when Macy falls for Him. Indeed, readers are awaiting answers. ;) Again, a greatly commendable first effort and I hope your pen will never stop writing, Iris. :)

{image4}
http://tvbcentral.net/fanfic/viewstory.php?sid=9
Fanfic poster by author

Perhaps the only entry that truly delved into the Mystery genre, Vivien wrote "Valentino" with an unexpected twist. [Can I afford a little aside? I love the names Colette and Alexia! *TkN quickly adds to her list of potential baby names list*] My only recommendation for her planned lengthier version of the fiction is to explore the character Valentino and give him layers. Of course, I enjoyed the mysterious air that Valentino carries with his little words and unexplained actions. However, he seems to have taken the backseat and let Colette drive the story forward despite the fiction being named after him. The intriguing introduction defined the name Valentino as one with determination and hinted love. Regrettably, both defining characteristics were not thoroughly explored. I can sense his determination, but it lacks a strong motive. I was never certain who he was in love with. These are two areas in which I hope can come to light in the long version. But for a day's work, this is stunning. I greatly appreciate the engrossing plot and circular narrative that nicely concludes the story.

{image5}
http://tvbcentral.net/fanfic/viewstory.php?sid=8
Fanfic poster by author

A very fitting paradoxical title! "Advancing Backwards", by flo, explores the themes of change as Nathan struggles with self-improvement and adaptation when Hayley realizes she has lacunar amnesia. Bonded by a seven-year-old, the two embarked on a journey of self-discovery. flo did a wonderful job with describing settings and actions. The tangible tension she created between Hayley and Nathan so intense that I found myself drawing bated breaths when the scene closes. I strongly encourage flo to continue this fiction as it concludes with many questions left unanswered. I felt teased. :P Lead readers into the memories that Hayley slowly recovers. Let readers become more acquainted with Nathan as Hayley further interacts with him. Paint for us the future they will have as they deal with their darker past and the concept of parenthood. As Nathan spoke, "Consider it." No, demand! I want to read more! :D Again, a job very well done! A wonderful balance between intensity and light-heartedness (re: Tessa).

{image6}
http://tvbcentral.net/fanfic/viewstory.php?sid=7
Fanfic poster by mango

I have never before fallen in love with a character that was introduced to me in a mere twelve pages. But I have now. Not for his mysterious aura, expressive eyes, or expensive suit. But for the wit, sensibility, and kindness he exemplifies. And let's not forget our feisty and righteous heroine who is equally kind. Portraying such charming characters with so few words is no easy task. But someday, glazed-over will get things right. Well, that someday is today! glazed-over's simple yet effective short fiction wins this challenge. Her incorporation of the challenge's requirements and themes seemed effortless, and with added humor. The motto "judge not by appearance, but by character" was beautifully intertwined throughout the narration. glazed-over also has a strong command for English and her descriptors poignant, persuasive. The scope of her plot carefully planned and thoroughly explored, despite the short time she was allowed to work on her story. My heart, soul, and mind unequivocally recommend this fiction! In fact, check out other works from glazed-over at http://tvbcentral.net/fanfic/viewuser.php?action=storiesby&uid=9

My sincere gratitude, once more, to everyone who participated in the challenge! Your hard work was incredibly inspiring. Your determination held me speechless. And I hope this spirit never fades, as our second challenge will be issued soon-ish, to quote glazed-over. :) Indeed, our challenge winner will be in charge of hosting the next challenge. Keep an eye out for it! :)

10 Vote(s)

Yeah another article of mine. Personally, I feel there are mix reviews about TVB series productions. Some of them are personally like their idols. They put them in priority other than the story line, plot, characters, etc. in a particular drama. But, some of them are perceived to take every single aspects in a drama as a whole in reaching a total conclusion. Yeah personally I feel the same way as the second perception. It is really essential to take note on every essential elements in a particular series.

Nowadays, I personally think the quality of the production has slightly reduced but anyway I think watching TVB drama is a whole lot part of my relaxation. Other than some of the recently hit drama such as follows:

Year 2004 War and Beauty
[A good high budgeted production drama, filming scenes in China]

Year 2005 Wars Of In-Laws
[A light comedy drama, conflict between mother in-laws and daughter in-laws]

Year 2006 La Femme Desperado
[Focus on females, their interactions as well as actions & behaviour in their lives]

Year 2007 Heart Of Greed
[A super hit family oriented drama, conflicts, frictions between family members]

Year 2008 Moonlight Resonance
[A sequel of Heart Of Greed, another complicated family drama, multiple love lines and arguments]

Year 2009 Rosy Business
[Another family conflict drama in the ancient time, events in handling the family business]

Year 2010 ????
[How about this year?]

Yeah there are various upcoming dramas to be aired in 2010 and the subsequent years...

TVB had already aired a few TVB dramas starting from the end of 2009. A Chip Off The Old Block is the first drama to be nominated in 2010. I personally love to watch Ron's drama. Besides, the genre is somewhat amazing without thinking that actually TVB had followed some scenes from the western dramas. Other than Ron, there are other comedians that had contributed a lot for this drama such as Sunny, Myolie, Shirley, Nancy, Gigi, John, Louis-the funniest guy, etc.

{image1_500x500}

There are many funny scenes in this drama, plus some fantasy additions involving Ron turning back to time in order to learn and realize the mistake being made by Ron towards Sunny. Overall this drama is a satisfying one and TVB had already planned for a sequel. Hope it is not a disappointed one as it always does for a sequel.

{image2_500x500}

Yeah The Beauty Of The Game...a drama revolving around entertainment circle, their daily events and conflict between artistes. Although it is a good start for TVB to introduce the real faces that existed in the entertainment line, but sometimes I doubt some events are not going to happen in practice. The conflicts between Kate, Christine and Sharon are pretty cool and somewhat awesome. But there are some scenes that are way too extreme.

A 20 episode is sufficient to mention about mostly events that happen in the entertainment industry. It is a good drama.

7 Vote(s)

{image1}

Twinkle (Tavia Yeung) asked Yat Bo (Steven Ma) if they have a chance of going out together as a couple. Yat Bo told her that it's impossible and walked out onto the floating platform. It turns out that Yat Bo was referring to his dad, Gam Gwai (Lau Dan), who asked him, at the same time, if it was possible to buy the fish stall from Wong (Law Lok Lam). Twinkle is upset and embarrassed. She then decided to remain as friends.

{image4}

Anna (Mandy Cho) and Jeff's (Michael Tse) relationship is on thin ice. Anna has become a little paranoid from the warning she received from her roommate and tried to patch up their relationship by forcing herself to do things Jeff likes to do (ex. play shuttlecock). However, things don't work out the way she wanted it to. Anna had enough with the relationship between Twinkle and Jeff. She gave him two options: marry her or fire Twinkle. Jeff was indecisive and they start to become distant from each other.

{image3}

Jeff took a trip to the hospital from eating some overdue food. He immediately thought of Anna and called her. Anna forgave him after knowing that she is the one he thought of first when he's in trouble. After a few days, however, Jeff realized that he no longer loves Anna. He texted her a message, stating that he wanted to break up because she wasn't right for him. Rumors start to spread around the office. Twinkle is accused of being the third party of Anna and Jeff's relationship.

{image2}

Yat Bo decided to confess to Twinkle, with the help of Mei Guen (Shermon Tang). However, every time he tried to confess, there's always something preventing him from confessing. Apparently, Mei Guen is only pretending to help him. She still likes Yat Bo and was determined to stop Yat Bo from confessing to Twinkle. Her parents even helped Mei Guen. Yat Bo's heart was broken after falling for Mei Guen's trap.

Although Twinkle is accused of being the third party, Jeff and Twinkle are still friends. It is revealed in episode ten that they both have each other's reading (from episode one: "Today, you will meet the most important person in your life."). The two start developing weird feelings towards each other. From that point on, they start to avoid each other. However, they had to go to Germany to receive an award for their toy design. After being lectured by their boss for avoiding each other and not appreciating the company and their career, they decide to go together, regardless of the rumors.

{image5}

Yat Bo realized Mei Guen was trying to prevent him from confessing. He decided to stop trusting Mei Guen and bought a laptop to e-mail Twinkle. Just as he was sending the e-mail, there was a blackout. He called Twinkle to confirm whether or not his e-mail was sent. Twinkle told him that she wasn't able read her e-mails as she cannot sign into her account. Yat Bo decided to wait until she returns to confess.

Twinkle and Jeff start dating after their experience in Germany together. They've been lost in the middle of a forest, their car broke down and it was snowing heavily outside. Jeff decided to go out to search for help and came back in time to save Twinkle from freezing to death. Twinkle is grateful and realized that she's in love with Jeff. At the same time, Yat Bo was running to Twinkle's house to confess, and saw them holding hands. He is heartbroken once again.

Twinkle finally can sign into her e-mail account. She is surprised to see the e-mail Yat Bo sent and told Jeff about it. Jeff wanted to pretend nothing happened, since Yat Bo thought his e-mail wasn't sent and that she couldn't access her account. After a few days, Twinkle figured it was wrong to pretend nothing has happened and wanted to break up (just to sort things out). Jeff, however, refused to and started to mistrust Twinkle. They experience more problems when Yat Bo injured his shoulder and Twinkle offered to help him with his work load.

While Twinkle was away to help Yat Bo, Jeff was having problems with his toy design for Christmas. Jeff designed a remote-controlled flying sleigh for Christmas. Frankie (Ruco Chan) declared that it was impossible to make it fly around, unless they changed the design. Angry, Jeff decided to hire someone who was capable of doing so. Jeff found Daniel, a mechanical engineer, but he backed out last minute. Jeff turned unreasonable and fired Twinkle when she returned to work.

{image8}

Jeff continued to be unreasonable and childish until he hurt Yat Bo at a party. Yat Bo wanted things to go back to the way it was. He told them (Jeff and Twinkle) that he wanted to be friends again. However, he realized that things will never be the same because Jeff and Twinkle still have feelings for each other.

{image6}

Twinkle decided to leave Hong Kong because she couldn't choose who she wanted to be with. Jeff and Yat Bo kept asking her dad, Wing Chung (Law Ho Kai), if he knew her whereabouts, but she didn't inform her dad where she is. After talking with Gam Gwai, Yat Bo predicted that she went to Disneyland. He goes over to find her. When he found her, he also spotted Jeff around looking for her. He selflessly took out his phone and dialed Twinkle's number. Since the three (Jeff, Twinkle and Yat Bo) have the same exclusive ring tone, Jeff was able to recognize that and to found her "first". Twinkle believes that Jeff is the one she's fated to be with.

{image7}

Yat Bo was sitting by himself on the floating platform. He received a call from Twinkle, but decided not to pick it up. The series ends with Yat Bo wishing the best for Twinkle and Jeff.

Credits to http://www.steven-ma.org/bbs , http://www.cho-mandy.org/bbs , http://baidu.com for screencaptures.

9 Vote(s)

I need a place to rant...I don't know how to make the post private lol, I really...really...needed a place to say what's on my mind at this very moment...and I thought of...TVB Central? I may be bias in my rant...I don't know because right now, I'm not in a good position to be neutral. Btw, I hope no one will vote for this to be published news...I just wanted to rant...if it's alright...

{image1}

I used to be a big FungYi fan and went by the name of mango, but few months ago, when my passion for TVB is quickly declining..I switched back over to Kpop. Amazingly...I found my new 'idols' and they're the boy-band 2PM. It's okay if you don't know who they are...lol...cause this is TVB Central after all, but they're a Korean boyband consists of 7 members, Park Jaebeom (=group leader), Ok Taecyeon, Nickhun Horvejkul, Lee Junho, Jang WooYoung, Hwang Chansung and Kim Junsu. If you're ever curious, I'm sure you can wiki them.

The last time when I was 'fangirling' over a boy band was...DBSK? But honestly...come to think of it, I actually only loved DBSK because of Kim Jaejoong. My first ever Kpop fandom was back in the old school days with Shinhwa...and with 2PM, it was like I found my second Shinhwa again. lol I probably don't make sense but that's how I feel..

Anyways...I had always been aware of 2PM but never a full fan until I watched 2PM Idol Army and Wild Bunny. They were hilarious, cute, very humble/down-to-earth, dorky so well, I fell in love with the 7 membered group. But only to actually realize after (even though I've read of it before it was brief and I didn't pay much attention) that Park Jaebeom was forced out of Korea and resign as the group's leader because of a myspace controversy where he wrote "korea is gay" ...and obviously, you don't want to mess with Korean netizens, trust me. They're scarier than the cookie monsters or any type of imaginary fiends under your bed or in your closet. The point is, after digging up Jay's past and having read that phrase, the netizens were outraged and petitioned for Jay to be kicked out and there was like huge backlash.

Personally, I don't mind that...because for one thing, Jay's background is a bboy and quite a lot of times, I'm trying not to generalize, bboys...a lot of them write in those 'gangstahh' type of ways if you get what I mean. He's also not very acquainted with the Korean culture since he was born in America and lived in Seattle. He only went to to Korea to make ends meet...I read his myspace comments and all he wanted was to make money to buy his mom nice things and pay off their family debts and it makes me think...why such a nice boy like him deserve such things?! Plus, you know how western culture isn't very much like asian culture...it's hard for Jay to easily assimiliate and his Korean is still isn't all that great either..

Of course, after he left Korea, the media went on to release another comment from Jay's myspace (okay so wtf now they change their minds?!)...something positive this time I can't remember but after learning of it, he gained even more support and fans were all wanting him back. JYP (the company Jay is under) had PLANS for him to make a come back in April 2010...HAHA...AS IF!
Just today...they released a statement with lame excuses and that Jay is KICKED OUT of the company because of a certain "personal matter" that was WORSE than the myspace controversy...if ever revealed..

Uh...yeah right. What could possibly be worse? Did he rape someone? Kill someone? Torture someone? Excuse me...but during his Again & Again promotions, they could barely get 4 hours of sleep and where on earth did he get time to commit such a crime to get kicked out of the company and with the contract being terminated?
Then I found out..hah...JYP was using Jaebeom as a scapegoat because he had revealed bits and pieces (before his debut) about JYP's SLAVE contract (which JYP CLAIMED they do not practice) and in fear of having their secrets found out, sacrificing Jaebeom is the best solution.

And I'm sorry but this is where I go on a swearing spree @*@*@(*#(@)*)(@*#

Mind you, I am a FAN...it is hard for me to be calm and rational (even if I'm trying so very hard to be) when my IDOL has been kicked out of the country, kicked out of the company, used as a scapegoat...blamed and defamed...forbidden to go back to korea...under a slave contract...wasted 4 years of his sweat and tears in training...for...nothing and where his dreams are taken away from him in a flash.

Any respects I had for JYP? I'm sorry...I have none.

But most of all...I cannot believe JYP would be so low as to DRAG the other six boys into his plot. He said they all agreed that they cannot continue on with Jay in their group. It really is hard for me to believe that the boys came into a final decision in less than a week, specifically in 3 days they agreed to it and after that, they acted all happy as if nothing happen. They are humans. They trained and practiced and worked hard through all the sweats and tears and blood...TOGETHER and now they're telling me that the other 6 boys could throw Jaebeom, THEIR LEADER, away as if he's nothing? You're kidding me right? I wouldn't even do that to my puppy.

On a recent talk show, Taecyeon said that "Because we are SEVEN members..." he said SEVEN...he included JAY. If it was decided for Jay to not be back...why would he say that?

I choose to believe in their friendship and their bond. Because from what I can see fancams or not...the way they cared for each other...I don't believe they can throw away a friend that easily. In other words, I believe JYP did this without the consent of the other six members. And to me...at this very moment...he's the devil in disguise.

Sorry for ranting about probably things you have no idea about...but it makes me feel slightly...better.

7 Vote(s)

The Glutinous Rice Ball (a.k.a 湯圓 Tong Yuen/Tang Yuan) is one of the many delicacies in the Eastern cuisine... especially eaten during Chinese festivals like Chinese New Year, Chap Goh Meh (final day of CNY) and the Lantern Festival. But of course, anyone from any race/religion/culture can make/eat this wonderful dessert!

You might have seen them frozen-packed in supermarkets. You only need to bring it home, boil them and POOF! You've got yourself a sweet dessert.

Curious about how they make it? Well I don't know how the factories make it, but I am going to post how it is made, TRADITIONALLY and HOMEMADE. And I heard they taste better than the instant ones. No preservatives, no colourings. Just good ol' flour, palm sugar etc...

DISCLAIMER: These glutinous rice balls have a palm sugar filling, and not black sesame or read bean. Well, it's the same methods though, just replace the palm sugar with whatever filling you want.

Ingredients:

{image1_500x500}
500 grams of glutinous rice flour (I don't think other flours can be used).
Palm sugar (If possible, get the big solid ones cause we're going to crush it. The fine palm sugar in packets are going to be very tedious).
Water (Depends on how soft you want the dough to become).
3 Pandan leaves (If you want your rice ball to taste like pandan, then get 2 more. So you need 5).
Ginger (Just a small one will do)

Method:

STEP 1

{image2_500x500}
1. Firstly, put the glutinous rice flour in a very large bowl/plate.

STEP 2

{image3_500x500} {image10_500x500}
Add water and knead the dough (Knead if half-way if you are following step 3.
If not, knead it completely and continue on to step 4).

STEP 3
OPTIONAL STEP: ONLY FOR THOSE WHO WANT THEIR RICE BALL GREEN OR TO TASTE LIKE PANDAN.

{image4_500x500}
Cut your pandan leaves into 4 cm (Doesn't need to be exactly 4cm. As long as they fit the blender/stone pounder). After that, put them in a blender or a stone pounder (I used a stone pounder) and blend/stone them until almost pulverized.

{image5_500x500}
Scoop it up and put in into a bowl (Ignore the plate in the picture :P). Add around 150ml of water and mix them.

{image6_500x500}
We only want the green juice, so strain it using a fine strainer.

Pour the juice in the dough (which you left aside) and knead till dough is smooth and a bit elastic. Make sure it's not too dry or wet because it will be very hard for you to put the palm sugar in.

Leave your dough aside.

STEP 4

{image8_500x500}
Crush your palm sugar into small crystals.

STEP 5

{image7_500x500}
Boil a big pot of water (depends on how much ginger soup you want). Smash the ginger lightly with a spoon or knife (So that the juice comes out).

Add the pandan leaves (the uncut ones), a small ginger and a medium-sized block of palm sugar. Normal fine sugar is fine as well.

STEP 6

{image12_500x500}
Time to make the rice balls :)

Bring back the dough! Pinch a bit of it (the size is up to you) and roll it into a ball. Then, just use one finger to push the center of the ball. So now, there is a hole in the center. Put a palm sugar crystal in it (not too big, if not it will burst). Close the hole and roll once more.

You can make it into any shape or size you want!
Personal: The first time I did this, it was a bit hard because I didn't know how to close the ball without displacing the palm sugar crystal.

STEP 7

{image11_500x500}
Boil another pot of water. Put in your uncooked rice balls and let it boil. You can see it's cooked when the rice balls float to the top.

Then transfer the cooked rice balls into the ginger soup.
And IT'S READY TO BE EATEN!!

It is best served hot by the way.

Sorry for the low-quality pictures. I need to get a new camera >.<
Sorry if I explained it badly!
If you have any questions, feel free to ask! I'll try my best to answer.
Enjoy making~

11 Vote(s)

Yat Bo is hungry and asks Twinkle to make him a meal.

NOTE: This is a rant but I'd love for it to turn into a discussion ^^

The video isn't about anyone in TVB but a 3 year old fan crying over Justin Bieber (who I am personally not a fan of) but it's sort of funny.

If the little girl wasn't 3 years old, perhaps I wouldn't have laughed watching the video. Instead I may have groaned, ripped my hair out and face palmed myself in pure frustration.

Which is what I do, sometimes. When I come across certain messages I just think to myself, ‘Is this fan's brain capable of functioning?' because it seems like they haven't used it to think before typing whatever they typed.

Once or twice it's usually alright and I can still deal with it but when a whole bunch of a certain artistes fans, you can't help but start generalizing and stereotyping against that group of fans. It's bad, I know it and I hate it but it's almost not preventable, in my opinion. I can turn a blind eye the first few times but after a while you can't help but think, ‘Oh just learn to be quiet if you have nothing constructive to say.'

I guess what I'm trying to get at is that fans are sometimes the fa actor that causes me to be less avid as I would like to be. It's such a turn off because when you're trying to have a normal conversation about some function the artiste has been at or just about his/her role in a series you're bombarded with these comments that piss you off (likely regarding other artistes present). Not to mention the content of the replies contains nothing more than bashing. They don't even respect your opinion or try to express their own in a civil manner. It's like they aren't happy unless they initiate an argument.

Not gonna name any artistes because I don't want to offend anyone but I'll use a contrasting example, although it's not really TVB. :P I love Leehom, haha. But I also think this is the only artiste where I can proudly say I love all his fans too, just because of their conducts. Haha, because I know he had a concert or something and then some fans stayed after to help clean up the venue. In the end he got a call and he came back too help but that's not my point. Surely, it was a plus for the fans since he came back and they began this whole cleaning session but it's the fact that they stayed not expecting him to come back to help. Then there's always those Jay Chou vs. Leehom debates but I really think fans like them because of preference. I mean, at least they acknowledge the fact that both are great composers and have a passion for music. With (some) TVB (and Korean) fans, they don't seem to see the hard work an artiste has put in their work or their talent (if they have it, that is :P). Haha, I could go on and on but I think I got my point across.

So yup, in conclusion…to me, a fan can determine how much I like an artiste :P Haha, I know it sounds extreme but the thing is I think interaction is important (which is why we have TVB central, no? haha). If I can't stand the fans and hold in my anger when talking to them then I don't want to talk to them. Chances are it happens at forums and threads of a certain artiste, meaning I don't go to that thread/forum…inevitably my like for that artiste will gradually (or quickly) decrease.

8 Vote(s)

After reading Audrey and Flo's reports I felt inspired to finish my own! I started this once I got home that night but never got around to finish it....!! So here is my ridiculously long report:

31 December 2009 - New Years Eve Countdown at Ponte 16, Macau with Raymond Lam and Niki Chow

I've uploaded some of the better photos onto Facebook:
http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=185969&id=159451205691

You can also find 3 videos here:
http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=967300B180D7FA9E

{image1}

A coupe of friends and I originally booked the 4pm Turbojet to Macau but on the way there, I realised I forgot to bring my passport and HK ID card!!!! So stupid of me. Since I took a small handbag for convenience, I must've forgot those things while packing, so I had to go back home to get them. I thought for sure I wouldn't make it, but when I arrived at around 3:58pm... I still got on! There were quite a few other ppl as late as I was too... which was lucky for me.

So we finally arrived in Macau at around 5pm. I guess because it's New Year's Eve, there were many people arriving so the queue at Immigration was crazily long. The wait was almost an hour!!

As I was also going to pick up the Macau concert tickets, I took the shuttle bus to The Venetian. They showed the ad for the concert a few times on the bus too! Anyway, after getting a little lost at The Venetian, I took a taxi to Ponte 16, which was a fair way away, judging from the taxi fare.... and finally got there at around 7:15pm???

Even though the function was scheduled to start at 9pm, a few fans from FF (FungForever - Raymond's official fanclub) were already there, but the area was mostly empty so I went to buy some food since I hadn't eaten much the whole day. As 9pm gets closer more ppl arrived. I couldn't see that far behind since there're a lot of ppl surrounding us but the area wasn't very big so a lot ppl stood on the side and also across the road. Luckily we got there early so we were directly in front of the stage! (But separated by a few rows for VIPs and a security barrier!) There were about 11/12 FF members there, but a couple of girls next to me also liked Raymond so we all screamed together!

The hosts for tonight were Carlo Ng and Paisley Wu (she's the host of JSG). The show started around 15 minutes late and first up Carlo sang! I haven't watched his latest series (A chip off the old block) so I don't know what song he was singing. Unfortunately he didn't sing very well. The other host also sang 2 songs too, and if I remember correctly, she was a singer before so she was quite good.

{image3}

There was also a Peking Opera / Hip Hop performance, before the first "headline" guest, Rosanne Lui came out. She sang some songs (didn't know them!) including a Thai one, but I guess the most popular one was the Beyond medley, since a lot of people knew the lyrics to those songs.

{image2}

After Rosanne sang, they played games with the audience. They would play a short snippet of music and the audience would have to guess the song. Since they only played about 2-3 seconds of each song, some were really hard to guess!! Carlo went down the stage to the barrier area to interact with the audience and also gave out the prizes. After a few songs, they played a short snippet of an English song which I guess not many ppl knew what it was.... so I put my hand up and got it right!!! LOL!!! The song was "YMCA". Now I have a Rosanne DVD...! At least my mum would appreciate it. :P

{image4}

The next guest was Niki Chow... and she sang "Guess the lantern riddle" and "Floating softly". She wore a spaghetti strap jumpsuit so it was rather cold for her!! But she was as pretty as she's on screen. :) The hosts asked her whether she needed a jacket but Niki insisted it was ok because she wanted to look her best in that outfit! LOL.

{image5}

{image6}

After she sang she picked some audience members to go up on stage to play games too. The game was similar to one from "Super Trio" where there is a balloon which keeps on inflating, while holding the balloon each person has to give an answer to the selected topic. If the balloon bursts then that person loses.

{image13}

Even though Niki is one of my favourite actresses after many hours of standing we were anxious to see Raymond. But after Niki left the stage there was also a Michael Jackson performance. But during this performance we could spot Raymond on the side of the stage getting ready and even dancing a little to the MJ songs! Suddenly the 4 hours we spent standing and waiting were forgotten!

{image7}

As expected Raymond came out last among the guests. By now, it was already past 11pm! He sang three songs - "Love to search for you in memories", "If the time has arrived" and of course "Love with no regrets"! Since he is the most popular guest of the evening, people behind us started pushing towards the front which made things kinda crazy! Especially when he came down to shake hands! I had tried to record a video but the combination of tired arms, people screaming and pushing... the video turned out VERY shaky, not recommended if your stomach gets upset easily!

{image8}

{image14}

After the songs Raymond played games with the audience too. A couple of FF members got picked and the game true or false. If a statement is true, the fans should stand next to Raymond. But if you think the statement is false, you should stand next to Carlo. Of course everyone wanted to stand alongside Raymond!! lol.

{image9}

{image10}

The game did go on for a little while and finally all the guests came back on stage for a proper countdown! After they opened up the champagne the event drew to a close.

{image11}

Even though we pretty much stood there for 5 hours it was such a good night! Surprisingly, all of the performances were enjoyable so the time passed by pretty quickly. Since we also cheered and made noise for the other performers the hosts mentioned us Raymond fans a few times and hopefully our cheering created a better atmosphere!!!

{image12}

After the event most of the Raymond fans headed straight to the ferry terminal, to try to catch Raymond on his way back to HK. Since we had to return to HK on the same night also, we made our way there too. Unfortunately everyone else is also leaving at the same time so it was almost impossible to get a taxi! We had to keep walking along the main road for at least half an hour before we finally got a taxi!! At the ferry terminal, we met with other fans who were also waiting for Raymond as well. I guess we were lucky that night because less than 5 mins after we arrived at the terminal, Raymond arrived as well! He was in a hurry though, to catch the 1am ferry so he didn't really stop for autographs or photos etc.

Our return ticket was originally scheduled for the 1:30am ferry but fortunately we could catch the earlier one so we ended up on the same ferry back as Raymond :) Of course he was seated in VIP so we didn't see him during the trip! During our journey back we were all so tired but thought we should try our luck and see if we can get his autograph or photo once we arrive in HK.

Since the VIPs disembark the ferry first we had to catch up fairly quickly. My friend was very fast so she managed to catch the same escalator as Raymond and his assistant. Another fan and I were a little further behind. As a little side note though, I spotted one of the guys from Soler (don't know which one though!!!) on the escalator behind me! He was holding a guitar so I'm fairly sure I was seeing things correctly. [would've loved a photo with him too looool, but alas, needed to concentrate
on someone else....]

My friend was lucky enough to have a short chat with him before they arrived at immigration but I guess it wasn't a good place he didn't sign or take photos. It was quite a weird experience as I ended up directly behind him at the e-tunnel gate where you had to insert the ID card, do the fingerprint thing to pass through the gate! I feel like such a stalker!! Eventually another HK fan and I saw him as he was leaving and managed to say "Happy new year" to him. (Actually, I didn't really talk since I was so starstruck!! LOOL) He told us to be careful and don't stay out too late!

11 Vote(s)

This is a really short post, because frankly, there's nothing to write! It's been my second time meeting Moses in person and let me say, he's really a 師奶殺手! The aunties were screaming for him once he came on stage. Woah... let me backup a little and begin on my boring pre-Moses journey.

By the way, Sonija, Steven and Nancy was supposed to appear too! But...........read my article to find out what happened. Sighs.

My arrival at a very empty Plaza Singapura

It was....dismal. My friend and I had overestimated the time and we arrived at the venue at 10am when the event was supposed to start at 2.30pm! The Starhub booth was still being set up and while walking around recee-ing the place, I heard the overall I/C telling the temporary staff to 'concentrate while the TVB artistes were performing'!

I happened to take a sneak peek into the brochures and pamphlets that the staff were giving out, and from where I was standing, it looked as if Moses, Charmaine, Nancy and Steven were going to appear. Naturally, my friend who's a Charmaine fan was super excited, but alas, it was not to be the case. In actual fact, when I walked closer later on, I found out that the picture was actually Sonija instead of Charmaine!

Moral of the story: TVB should update their artistes' profile pictures that does not have two artistes in the same position (i.e. lying down sideways)

Anyway, my friend and I decided to head to Starbucks to do our assignment while waiting for the event to start.

At the venue waiting for the event to start

We went back to the venue about 1.30pm, and to our dismay, there were quite a few people there already! There was a singing karaoke contest ongoing on stage and people had gathered there to watch. Undeterred, we 'shuffled' our way through and landed ourselves on the 2nd row! Not bad eh?

Throughout the singing competition, the host kept announcing that the TVB artistes were about to come. Whenever Moses's name was mentioned, the crowd would scream the loudest! Steven's screams came up a close second, while Nancy and Sonija's screams were a distant third.

Let the event begin!

I actually waited for 45 minutes before the TVB artistes arrived! The host was saying that they went to eat dessert nearby and thus were late. Boy, we were kept on our toes waiting. Not to mention, I had to rush off to class which would be starting at 3.30pm! Which is why, I failed to snap and see Sonija, Steven and Nancy. What a wasted chance!

Finally, the artistes came, and everyone started shoving in their way through just so that they can get to see their favorite artistes. Moses came out first and introduced himself. By then, I was feeling really claustrophobic because everyone just squeezed towards the stage hoping to get a better glimpse of him.

{image7_500x500}

He started by talking about the Starhub TVB awards that was held the night before, where he won Most Favorite Male Character award and thanked Starhub for giving him this chance to accept this award. He also talked about filming [Heaven and Earth] and announced that filming for that show was over, and that he was about to continue filming [Here Comes The Princess].

This being an event that happened over a week ago, I kind of forgot what he said fully. However, Moses being Moses, reiterated the fact that coffee is a must for him everyday and said no matter what, 'still must drink coffee!'

{image8_500x500}

He started introducing the song he was about to sing, and a very sweet thing happened! When the host was talking, he looked over in my direction and smiled that charming smile of his! Oh my, I almost melted on the spot. Haha!

{image9_500x500}

So while singing the song, Moses actually came downstage, and that's when all the pandemonium started. We started rushing to the front to shake his hands, and I'm very proud to say that I've managed to shake his hand! Gosh, his hands are big and firm! Some fans didn't even want to let go of his hand at all! But I had to, because I had to take photos of him. So, I got my other friend to video down his performance.

{image11_500x500}

Beware: it's shaky because there were simply too many people! And you'll probably hear loads of screamings.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L-xSvF3V7_I

To say that Moses worked the crowd is an understatement. He rocked the whole of Plaza Singapura down!

{image10_500x500}

I know this is a really abrupt ending, but I had to leave immediately after Moses sang his song! When I managed to get out of the crowd, Steven came on stage, but I didn't manage to take any photos of him.

{image12_500x500}

It's definitely no wonder why Moses is such a hit in Singapore. He's handsome enough to be idolized by youths and charming enough to knock the socks out of the older generation people. I would have to say he's definitely one of the more versatile actors in this generation who can appeal to both the young and old.

Once again, sorry for such an ending. I promise to stay throughout for the next event! Now, let me pray that it hits 5 votes (:

11 Vote(s)

Yeah, I am really looking forward to write a long article regarding the introduction of how I first met TVB and know about what are the meaning of the three capital letter words. I like watching TV since I was a toddler. And I kept watching TV such as cartoons, exciting movies [but I just don't know what it means, as I just watched how they performing their actons], etc. And as I was from a family who really fond of watching Hong Kong dramas. And I was curious about it and decided to accompany them to watch in front of the television.

And I was caught by the serial episodes of a drama. 20 episodes, 30 episodes and some more of a 40 episode drama. Although I had a feeling that it's kind of like an addict who must have it and if without it, you will feel uncomfortable. But through the time passed, I realized that I would not do anything beyond my limit. Time management is the essential principle that I must behold. When I am watching TVB dramas, I will control myself not to watch it until ignoring my other important jobs. Now, I really know how to endure it and I perform my routine jobs smoothly.

Talking about TVB dramas, I do like the former artistes in the past time such as Gallen Lo, Benny Chan, Annie Man, etc. However, time changes with the position of TVB Fa Dans. Now, my current idols are Raymond Lam, Ron Ng, Bosco Wong, Kevin Cheng, Kenneth Ma, Steven Ma, Moses Chan. For female artistes, there are Tavia Yeung, Myolie Wu, Shirley Yeung and Selena Li.

Raymond Lam

The popular star who once had a role named "Ham Har Zai" in A Taste Of Love. His skin was in tan color and I just kept watching him as an immature teenage guy who often having lots of fun and tricks with Miriam Yeung. And the shining point of him being in Twins Of Brothers. Yeah he was really the hero of the year. And now he had performed his job very well. Filming movies, dramas and even recording several music albums as to become a professional singer. You can do it, Ray!

Ron Ng

Yeah my eyes kept watching him as the gangster in Vigilante Force and as the junior pilot in Triumph In The Skies. In my opinion, Ron really has the potential marks in order to become a popular star. However, he may be under some "bad clouds" since he was surrounded by rumours. Oh well, he is still the popular TVB artiste until now. Really looking forward to watch his upcoming dramas. I nearly forgot mentioning about his rising fame in the Mainland after filming an antagonist role in a mainland drama!!!

Bosco Wong

I took note of him only in 2005. He was filming the Wong Fei Hung TVB drama as well as the hero "But Lau Ming" in Wars Of In-Laws That's his turning point in his career line. Bosco Wong can act really well. That's the reason why he can win the Most Improved Actor Award during that anniversary night. TVB had given him lots of opportunities in order him to film TVB dramas. Friendly speaking, Bosco Wong is unique in terms of his complexion, his acting as well, internally as well as externally. Admire his cute expression, sometimes!!!

Kenneth Ma

He is really a hardworking man. He had filmed many dramas that I even not noticed him in old dramas in the earlier years. He acts very well and now his acting is now in recognition among the public. He had portrayed numerous roles. And now he is also a popular star. His hardship and efforts had earned him many intangible rewards and awards. Always support you, Kenneth!!!!

Kevin Cheng

I first began watching Burning Flame II and Kevin Cheng was young in it. He played a supporting role in that series. Not long after filming the firefighter drama, he filmed many dramas such as Food For Life, Under The Canopy Of Love, etc. Although his acting is superb, but I think it is really a short time for him to win the Best Actor Award. But anyway, he can be proven that he can understand how to work as a skillful actor!!!!

Steven Ma

Yeah, yeah!!! He is Steven Ma! It is really grateful to know he was in Safe Guards since he was in Better Halves. And now he was the contracted artistes under TVB Corporation. A few producers really likes Steven to film in their productions. As for me, I really like his clear, non-blurry voice. And his acting is excellent as well. Look at him in Sweetness In The Salt. I begin to like his breakthrough role in A Watchdog's Tale. When he was in a particular series, he really tell us that he has the capability to film well and do his own job accordingly. That's is my idol, Steven!!!!

Moses Chan

The more I watch him, the higher the level of joyfulness in myself. Yeah, he is the other actor that know how to act really really well!! I really serious to tell all of you that Moses is really a good comedian as well. He can portray a majesty in Beyond The Realm Of Conscience, the tough guy in Love Bond, the wealthy guy in The Gem Of Life and not forgetting about his character in The Ultimate Crime Fighter Whoa!!!! I really like him when he smiles!!! Haha!!!!

Tavia Yeung

She is the younger version of Maggie Cheung. She is awesome in playing "Sau Ning" in Twins Of Brothers. Tavia has the potential criterias to become an artiste. She is originated from the school of academy in TVB Corporation. Yeah she really depends on her hard efforts to earn her such current position in TVB now. Yeah she is practical and she has filmed lots of TVB dramas in the past 10 years. Now, she has several breakthrough roles, i.e. "Lo Lui" in Moonlight Resonance and now she even tried to film in a totally different role an evil concubine in Beyond The Realm Of Conscience

CLICK

8 Vote(s)

Wing Chung (Law Ho Kai) finds out that Twinkle (Tavia Yeung) and Simon (Jack Wu) broke up and lectures her at home. Tired of the lectures, Twinkle decides to tattle on her dad to her mom, who died fifteen years ago. Wing Chung, afraid that her mom would blame him for yelling at Twinkle when she confronts him in his dream, decides to stop lecturing.

{image1}

More information about Chi Kam Kiu (Kingdom Yuen) and her ex-husband, Leung Bing (Lee Kwok Lun) is revealed. Although they are divorced, the two still live under the same roof. The apartment is split into two, separated by a fence. Yat Bo (Steven Ma) told Kam Kiu to sell the house, but she refuses to, telling him that she paid for the down payment and that she is not willing to give him half the money if she sells it.

{image2}

When Twinkle and her best friend, Wong Mei Guen (Shermon Tang) went shopping for clothes, they meet Twinkle's old classmate Samantha (Fanny Ip). Samantha introduces her new boyfriend while teasing Twinkle for breaking up with her boyfriend every time before the annual class reunions. Mei Guen is angry, and lied to Samantha, saying that Twinkle does indeed have a boyfriend who works at an insurance company. Twinkle is stuck in a dilemma. If she goes (alone), Samantha would tease her. If she doesn't go, everyone would figure she has something to hide. Mei Guen tells Twinkle that she can find a male model to pretend to be her boyfriend. When no one was available to pretend, Jeff (Michael Tse) suggests Yat Bo to pretend to be her boyfriend. Jeff lets Yat Bo borrow his suit and car. Twinkle was relieved when Yat Bo arrived. Not only did they lie their way out, they were able to make Samantha embarrass herself.

{image3}

Jeff introduces his girlfriend, Anna Fong Cheuk Kei (Mandy Cho) to Twinkle and Yat Bo. Twinkle finds out that Jeff is a top toy designer and wants to learn from him, but doesn't have the guts to ask him if there is a job available in his company. Yat Bo tries to help, but gets rejected.

{image4}

Samantha and her new boyfriend were going out and run into Twinkle and Yat Bo, who wasn't dressed up. Twinkle lied to her and said that the two just went out into sea (because he smelled like fish). At the same time, they meet Wing Chung, who disapproves of their 'relationship'. Twinkle, who is afraid to lose her face, lies to Wing Chung in front of Samantha.

Screen-captured by TkN @ http://tkn-portrait.net/tvbguide

8 Vote(s)

At the recent 2009 TVB Anniversary Awards, all eyes were on how the underdog Rosy Business would stack up against anniversary powerhouse Beyond the Realm of Conscience.

However, besides the gold statuettes distributed that night let's not forget to also take a look at who else earned gold stars for their style.

Here in this fashion feature, we have five categories. First, The Honourable Mentions who all came out in their A-game, ready to razzle and dazzle up the Awards with their clever fashion choices. Then we have the Neither Here Nor Theres who aimed high but ended up falling somewhere in the middle of the crowd, vowing to do much better next year. Then, coming in after that part of the pack, are the The I'm-Not-Gonna-Win-So-This-Is-Really-Boring group. They didn't think they'd get any recognition this year but as to not offend TVB, attendance was compulsory. Hence, they just threw on something they had and showed up. Next, there's the OTT Award winners; they just don't seem to get that less is more. And last but not least, we have the very special Heidi Montag award. Heidi Montag, for those of you who aren't familiar with the name, is an American reality TV star who seemingly does a lot for attention. You get my drift.

Let's get the ball rolling!

The Honourable Mentions

{image19}

Tavia Yeung

My favourite dress of the night has to be what Tavia wore. The design and fit is absolutely perfect. The various shades of lovely blue in layers of chiffon gracefully panned out around her when she walked. I adore the tube bodice with the embedded silver bits, just to throw in a little more glamour to the otherwise ethereal Grecian-like dress. The dress (coupled with the elation she was undoubtedly feeling that night) made her look so radiant. I would love to own something like this. A brilliant fashion choice.

CLICK

13 Vote(s)

{image5}

Cast: Steven Ma, Tavia Yeung, Michael Tse, Mandy Cho, Kingdom Yuen, Ruco Chan, Susan Tse, etc.
Length: 20 episodes
Genre: Modern Drama
Producer: Tsu Yue On
Scriptwriters: Chan Ching Yee & Lau Chi Wah

{image1}

The main character we are first introduced to is Jeff Goon Sing Ho (Michael Tse), alongside supporting character Greeny Yip Seung Mau (Rams Cheung). Both are interested in the new coin-operated fortune telling machine installed at a mall. Jeff, a horoscope believer, inserts a coin into the machine and received his reading - "Today, you will meet the most important person in your life." Greeny, claiming to be an expert in horoscope reading, leaves the scene telling Jeff that he is more accurate than the machine. The next character we are introduced to is Twinkle Kan Ngo Lam (Tavia Yeung). Like Jeff, she's a horoscope believer. She inserts a coin into the machine and got her reading too, the same reading Jeff received. Twinkle leaves, believing that the most important person of her life is Simon (Jack Wu), her boyfriend.

When Jeff returns to work, his colleague, Frankie Chung Gin Bong (Ruco Chan), demanded a blueprint of the new toy design so that he can start working on it. Jeff left the company to find his inspiration; Frankie angry with his carefree attitude.

The two main characters, Jeff and Twinkle, meet each other at a mall from having to amuse a group of kids. Twinkle, after seeing Jeff drop his toy robot, tells him that she knows a toy store that sells the missing robot from his collection. What she didn't tell him was that her dad was the owner of the toy store. Jeff leaves, thanking her.

{image2}

Jeff meets fish seller, Chi Yat Bo (Steven Ma), Chi Gam Gwai (Lau Dan), and Chi Gam Kiu (Kingdom Yuen) at the supermarket playing shuttlecock. Jeff decides to join them after seeing how good Yat Bo was. Jeff attempts to do a kick flip. Yat Bo immediately tries to kick it after Jeff misses. Unfortunately, Yat Bo kicked the shuttlecock towards Nam Wing Chung (Law Ho Kai) and accidentally injures him. Jeff, thinking that Wing Chung wouldn't have anything against him since he's only a passerby, takes the blame. He excuses himself from the game, leaving Wing Chung angry. Jeff arrives at the toy store, almost had his hands on the toy robot, but the toy owner refuses to sell it to him. It turns out that Wing Chung is the toy owner and is still very angry about getting injured.

{image3}

Twinkle finds out that her boyfriend Simon, who works at an insurance company, is two-timing. She finds Yat Bo and cries. Apparently, Simon "scammed" her money using their relationship and even got her to buy nine insurance coverages. Yat Bo and Jeff went to the insurance company, hoping that Simon's boss would fire him. Simon does get fired, and even lost his license. When Twinkle stole the toy robot from her dad's toy store, she encounters Simon, who's angry and chasing after her. She runs to Yat Bo for help. Yat Bo defends her when Simon insults her and furiously kicks Simon out of the market.

{image4}

Screen-captured by TkN @ http://tkn-portrait.net/tvbguide

9 Vote(s)

January 30, 2010 - Michael Tse, Raymond Cho, Shirley Yeung, Tavia Yeung

IGNORE: Okay, so before you kill me for not having any photos in here…I actually do but they're all with my friends and I don't like how facebook resizes the photos so I'm not using those. I will definitely update with the photos later though.

{image10_500x500}

You can skip this paragraph if you want, I needed to rant about the weather.
Why don't we start with the FungYi calendar I had to print…I went over to the printing place after my science exam and realized I would have to go back to pick it up since they send the prints out elsewhere to do the coiling. So I went back on Thursday and for those of you who know who the ‘incloset FungYi fan' is, she went with me to get it. For those of you that don't, she's a friend of mine and her ethnicity is something far from being Chinese but she knows (and appreciates) FungYi in her own ways. She says it's her ‘essence'. It was freezing and we walked over to the store. I have no idea what the temperature was with or without the windshield but I was in a hoodie, a vest, a jacket, a pair of uggs and glittens and I was still freezing my butt off. Well my face and my legs…because I guess it wasn't a very smart idea to wear jeans, especially if you don't have a pair of leggings underneath to keep you warm when the wind is whipping at your entire body. Anyway, so when we got there I was expecting the two prints to come up to $20 because I checked online and that's what I got but the girl working there said $6.45. I thought I wasn't hearing her correctly first. The first thing that went through my head was, "Oh shoot, $60.45?" Hahaha, obviously I was wrong. It just came up to $6.45, and I'm not complaining at all :P. I have a picture of this though! It's on 8.5x11 glossy paper with black coiling.

{image1_200x200}

This paragraph isn't all that important either.
Anyway, so I've been nervous about whether or not I could give the calendar to Tavia…or even squish into the crowd at all and I was so absorbed into the fact that I had to give the calendar to her I totally forgot about preparing anything for Michael Tse, Raymond Cho and Shirley to sign. Anyhow, by Saturday I went over to the mall at one and found my friend and she only had 2 tickets with her - neither for me. So we stood in line at around 1:30 I think…I wasn't keeping track of time. We stood in line in hopes to be able to get 2 more tickets since I didn't have one yet. My aunt was standing a few people in front of us and she was holding onto my folder of ‘stuff' so I took the two FungYi calendars out of it and stood with it. Then I was eavesdropping on the two people in front of me since they were talking about FungYi. The girls dad was like Raymond's coming too? And the girl said that ‘if he was, she wouldn't be here' (I'm assuming because there would be so, so, so, so, so many screaming girls and quite honestly, I wouldn't want to be present either in such scenario) but Raymond was coming. Only that it was another Raymond. I think the dad asked if they were actually dating but the girl replied no, people just like them together :P Yup and by then my ninja senses stopped and I wasn't listening to their conversation anymore. My friend ran out to buy bubble tea, and I still owe her money ‘cause of it :P But anyways, she came back with 2 more tickets and we were good. We didn't really need to stand in line anymore, but we did anyways because we didn't want to lose our spots. One friend thought one of the workers there looked like her student teacher from a few years back but that friend is near-sighted and she didn't have her glasses. We wanted to get her attention so we could go into the center to sit down but they were letting people in by then, giving them tickets. So yeah, we didn't take an extra ticket.

Neither is this one.
We were directed to sit near the back. When I say the back, it's not even that far from the stage but we wanted to be closer and there were empty seats further up front that they said were for people that already had tickets. So in the end we were too lazy to walk up to one of the workers to ask them so we made one walk over to us instead and we asked her if we could move up because we had our tickets for a while already. She let us. Music was playing and we were bored so we started guessing what the name of the song is and which series it's from. We were stuck on Threshold of a Persona but then I guessed it because I've been watching it again lately since Sugar told me Fred's in it :P I think it was about 2:45 by then.

You don't have to read this one either.
By 3:00 the MCs started talking and they tried to liven up the atmosphere by making people scream and giving them photos of the artistes in return. I didn't realize the impact of Michael's Laughing Gor was that huge because I don't think I heard anyone call him by his actual name. It was all just Laughing Gor! Laughing Gor! Laughing Gor! Then there was some guy in a jacket and a toque that stood on a table screaming for Tavia and the MC (Louise Lee's son-in-law) said if you scream ‘Tavia, I love you!' then he would get a picture of her. Of her, not with her. Hahaha and it's sort of funny because the four of them weren't even there yet. Then they asked for people who were born on January 30th, if they were they could take a photo with the four of them. In the end only one guy had his identification to prove his birthday was today. They were asking for other people, if they had birthdays on the 31st or the 29th and they could get a photo if they could prove their birthday. A little girl got pushed out from the side and walked up to the stage and the MCs were asking her when her birthday was in Chinese and she was so confused. So they switched to English. The girl said she was born on the 3rd and LSK's son-in-law said to her she could go back to her mom. Except, he tried to make it a pun by including ‘3rd' into what he said and that…sort of failed. They played songs from series and made us guess what series it was from and we would get a photo (not with the artistes or anything). The first one that played was from Threshold of a Persona so we obviously knew that one since we guessed it from before. It was probably the fact that school finally got to us and we just raised our hands completely forgetting about running up to answer. None of us ran up when we could've gotten 3 songs right. In the end one of my friends ran up and answered one. And then I got stuck on the theme song of You're Hired and when I finally realized I got caught up in the moment with another friend of mine and we were just spazzing about what scenes we loved in it. Then Raymond's Love Not Guilty started playing and I don't even remember what person ran up but they said Heart of Greed and she still got a prize. But I don't think anyone cared. I was just thinking…it's from Moonlight, and it's not even the theme song :P

I don't remember what time it was but I think it was 3:10, 3:15 maybe when the four of them arrived. My sister was joking, calling them divas for being late, but they really weren't that late since the whole thing starts at 3. So they arrived and coincidentally, I only saw Tavia waving and walking with everyone else to the back room. The MCs were saying they need to ‘prepare' but they came out in another 2 minutes. So much for preparing. So they came up on stage and I don't really remember what was said but I know Laughing Gor was definitely mentioned for Michael, a no brainer, really. Then they asked Shirley and she knew that Pages of Treasures was airing here right now and for a nanosecond I got what I needed to get out of my system and started talking to my friend about how I watched all 20 episodes for 3 episodes of Fred. Then she talked about a Chip Off the Old Block and was asked about the sequel of it. She said it's likely that it was just a joke. Then they got to Tavia and I think they mentioned the Fish series she's in with Myolie, Chilam and Michael. She said something about just finishing filming and Hokkaido and nothing we don't already know. Raymond Cho was asked about his upcoming series and he said it's the detective series with Bowie. So not really anything we don't know already.

{image13_500x500}

There wasn't much talk and we were starting to walk up to get the autographs. If you didn't have your own photos, then they would give you one but if they see you holding stuff then they don't give any to you. That was a problem for me. I only had the calendar to give Tavia and another for her to sign so I had nothing for Raymond, Shirley and Michael. It wasn't really the fact that I wanted their autographs but I thought I was being rude since it was an autograph session for the four of them, not just one of them. Inevitably, I felt horrible for skipping past Raymond and going towards Tavia. But by then I was kind of nervous. I've been nervous even before the whole thing started. First off, I wasn't sure if I would be able to go at all. I wasn't sure when to print the calendar because I didn't want to walk to the store myself. I wasn't sure if I could get tickets. My friend told me sometimes they don't let you bring up your own materials and you must use what they give you to sign, so I didn't know if I could bring up the calendars at all. I was unsure that even if I could bring up the calendars if I would be able to give Tavia the calendar. I mean what if the workers think I'm some terrorist or something? But yeah I put the calendar down. And then I put the second copy down. I think she was about to sign the first one but she asked, ‘This one's for me?' (呢個送畀我咖？) And I nodded or something like that, and she said thanks (多謝！) I told her that we gave one to her last year and she kind of flipped through it. It wasn't really flipping through it but her hands were starting to flip through it so I'm guessing she wanted to see it? Hahaha, hopefully she did :P Anyway, I totally blanked out. But I took up a lot of time leaning over the table taking a photo with her and asking her to hold up the calendar in another photo. I might as well add it was a horrible angle for me so those photos of me are not going up. My aunt heard her tell the worker behind her to bring it backstage to someone (幫我畀｛INSERT NAME｝呀。) and my friend heard her tell the person to give it back to her later (一陣畀返我呀！). And then I felt bad again because I moved onto Shirley and I just stood there and I just looked at her and suddenly I said…"I…I don't have anything to sign" but she was super nice. That I knew already because Winnie told me that when she was in Aussie she recognized a fan from New Zealand or something like that. So yeah, she was really very nice ‘cause she gave me a little card with a blend of herself with the link of her site and her tvb blog on it even though I had nothing. She stood up and leaned over the table for everyone that wanted a photo with her. Raymond Cho did too. And then Michael, I don't even remember. I didn't have anything for him to sign but I was helping my friend hold her camera or something and then the worker behind him shooed us off so I couldn't help my friend get a photo with him. And he sort of shrugged ‘cooly' as in he couldn't do anything about it? I don't know. So I got my calendar signed but most importantly I got to give the calendar to Tavia so I was ridiculously happy about that.

{image12_500x500}

We didn't leave yet since we had the stamps and the tickets with us so we went back in to sit. After debating for a while we got back into line because we wanted pictures with them. So I thought maybe some people would recognize me because I was kind of talking to one the securities when I was waiting ‘cause I thought he looked like my friend :P We thought because I was the only one that gave something to Tavia the workers would've recognized me but we thought, ‘Meh, let's just give it a shot.' So we went up and they were going to give us posters but we said we only wanted a photograph. Raymond walked out of his seat and pretty much stood next to each of us to take a photo with us. Then Tavia…she was so busy signing everyone's photos and posters I didn't even want to take that much time taking a photo with her because I thought I blocked up the line long enough the first time I went :S Then for Shirley she stood up and leaned over and held onto a photo she helped someone else sign and took a picture with each of us. I was helping my friend with her photo with Michael. She asked him in Chinese if she could have a photo with him. He wasn't being ‘inch' or egoistic or anything, I don't know…he just sounded a little cocky when he replied, ‘Sure.' Then the worker was like okay, you guys have to leave. And I was alright with that. And then the worker dude says to me, ‘Oh hey, it's your second time.' He didn't say it in a mean tone or anything but it just surprised me. And then the security on the other side recognized us and also pointed out it was our second time.

And then we just went back into the center to sit since our stuff was there. By the time they were leaving they all stood at the front again and we just crowded around the stage taking multiple photos of the four of them waving. Not exactly interesting but yeah…we got a lot of photos then. Hahaha and finally they went back to the back room and we were shooed out by another worker. I'm going to say this just because, but when we were walking out the worker was standing there looked sort of angry and everyone was just strolling along not really caring. So I said thanks and her face kind of lit up when she said you're welcome so I do think the workers there are underappreciated and viewed as being in the way all the time. I mean, I wouldn't say they aren't annoying sometimes but the ones today I quite honestly think are very nice. Some are plain horrible though :P

And then these were the name cards they had when they were sitting there. My friend is seriously crazy over this stuff and since she works at the place the travel agent (who works for the company that was sponsoring the entire thing) brought it over to her. I seriously don't know what she's going to do with it but I took pictures of it anyways :P

{image2_200x200}
{image3_200x200}
{image4_200x200}
{image5_200x200}
{image6_200x200}
{image7_200x200}

My Aunt got the poster signed by all four so I scanned it and I'm giving it back to her the next time I see her. Which is also when I get the cable and her camera so I can actually upload the photos without asking my friends for it. Yeah, I was that smart to forget my camera at home :P

{image8_200x200}

Ah, I'm sorry for the horrible scan. My scanners are kind of messed up. But yeah, that's the signed Calendar! ^^

{image9_200x200}

So yup...that's it. I'll add the photos ASAP, sorry again.
PHOTOS @ SFY GALLERY: http://simplyfungyi.com/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=67

9 Vote(s)
